The
Chairs Coordinating Committee is composed of chairpersons from the six
member-MPOs/TPO (listed in the column at left). Citrus County is a voting member for Transportation Regional Incentive Program (TRIP) issues. FDOT Secretaries
(District 1 and District 7), Florida's Turnpike Authority, and four Regional Planning Councils are
represented on the CCC in a non-voting capacity.
The CCC meets quarterly
to develop regional solutions to transportation problems and to ensure
a consistent regional planning approach among the six member agencies. In that
context, the CCC is responsible for the following activities:
· Cost Affordable Regional Long Range Transportation Plan
· Regional Congestion Management System
· Air Quality Management Planning Process
· Regional Multi-Use Trails Element
· Major Investment Studies Coordination
· Regional Data Sharing and Mapping
· Regional Public Involvement Program

Public Involvement and Advisory Committees
In its decision making role, the CCC encourages input from citizens, elected officials and professional staff from member MPOs/TPO and various transportation related agencies throughout the region. Any citizen can attend meetings. Dates of meetings, minutes
of previous meetings and agendas for coming meetings are posted on the MEETINGS page.
The Joint Citizens Advisory Committee (Joint CAC) provides input and citizen perspective to the CCC. JCAC members are drawn from the Citizens Advisory Committees of the member MPOs. The committee meets to discuss transportation issues such as inter-county commuting, major roadway projects, passenger transit service, freight mobility and development of a system of multi-use trails. Meeting schedules and locations are listed on the MEETINGS page.
CCC public involvement is typically addressed through participation with local MPOs/TPO in their respective communities. For more information or to arrange for a speaker to attend your community event, contact your MPO/TPO by clicking on the link in the left panel of this page.
Another way to become involved in transportation planning is to fill out the transportation survey or to E-mail your comments directly to your MPO/TPO. Address and contact information for MPOs/TPO in the region can be found by clicking on the respective link at the top of the left column.
All CCC meetings and events are held at venues that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VI and requirements for Limited English Proficiency (LEP). If you need special services because you are disabled or because you have difficulty speaking or understanding English, the MPO/TPO located in the county where the event is being held will assist you. Links to MPOs/TPO are listed in the top left column of this page.
